Punjab Police Constable Physical Test (PST & PMT) 2026 Guidelines

Punjab Police Constable Physical Test (PST & PMT) 2026 Guidelines:Candidates who clear the Stage-I Computer Based Test (CBT) for the Punjab Police Constable Recruitment 2026 will be called for Stage-II: The Physical Screening Test (PST) and Physical Measurement Test (PMT). Both of these physical tests are qualifying in nature, meaning no marks are awarded, but failing any single event will result in immediate disqualification.

Physical Measurement Test (PMT)

Before running, candidates will have their height measured. You must meet the following criteria:+1

  • Males: Minimum 5 feet 7 inches (170.2 cms) +1
  • Females & Transgenders: Minimum 5 feet 2 inches (157.5 cms) +1

Physical Screening Test (PST) Standards

The PST evaluates your physical endurance and agility. The requirements vary drastically based on gender and age (for Ex-Servicemen).

1. For Male Candidates (Including ESM under 35 years) +1

  • 1600 Meters Race: Must be completed in exactly 6 minutes 30 seconds (Only 1 chance).
  • Long Jump: Minimum 3.80 Meters (3 chances allowed).
  • High Jump: Minimum 1.10 Meters (3 chances allowed).

2. For Female Candidates (Including ESM under 35 years) +1

  • 800 Meters Race: Must be completed in 4 minutes and 30 seconds (Only 1 chance).
  • Long Jump: Minimum 3.00 Meters (3 chances allowed).
  • High Jump: Minimum 0.95 Meters (3 chances allowed).

3. For Ex-Servicemen (Male, above 35 years) +3

  • 1400 Meters Walk/Run: To be completed in 12 minutes (1 chance).
  • 10 Full Squats: To be completed within 3 minutes (1 chance).

4. For Ex-Servicemen (Female, above 35 years) +1

  • 800 Meters Run: To be completed in 6 minutes (1 chance).

Important Rules for the Physical Test

  • Drug Testing: The recruitment board may conduct random biological testing to rule out the use of performance-enhancing drugs. Refusal to provide a sample equals disqualification.
  • Pregnant Candidates: Female candidates who are pregnant can submit a medical report before their scheduled PST date to postpone their physical test. If they clear the written merit, their seat will be held vacant, and they will be granted a chance to take the PST within 6 months of delivery.
