The Punjab Government, Department of Jails (Jails Branch) has issued a significant administrative order regarding the transfer and posting of 16 Jail Officers. The order, dated February 10, 2026, was issued by Superintendent Manjit Singh Randhawa and comes into force with immediate effect.

Major Transfers & Promotions

​The list includes high-level promotions where officers have been elevated to the rank of Superintendent (Grade-1) and Deputy Superintendent. Below are the key changes mentioned in the official order:

​1. Promotions to Superintendent (Grade-1):

• ​Kulwant Singh: Promoted and posted as Superintendent, Central Jail, Ludhiana (Previously Supt. Grade-1 at the same location).
• ​Gurcharan Singh Dhaliwal: Promoted and posted as Superintendent, Central Jail, Patiala.

​2. Deputy Superintendent Postings:

• ​Jaideep Singh: Shifted from Deputy Superintendent (Store) to Additional Superintendent-2, Central Jail, Patiala (following promotion).
• ​Parminder Singh: Transferred from Central Jail, Faridkot (Factory) to Deputy Superintendent (Admin), District Jail, Sangrur (Replacing Sh. Jaspreet Singh).
• ​Vijay Kumar: Transferred from Central Jail, Bathinda to Superintendent, Women Jail, Bathinda (Replacing Sh. Arvinderpal Singh Bhatti).
