CBSE Letter Writing Competition 2026: The (CBSE) has officially launched a writing contest for school students across India.
The competition is part of the UPU International Letter Writing Competition 2026 and will be conducted through schools.
What Has Been Announced
As per the update reported by NDTV, CBSE has announced:
- A national-level writing competition for students
- The contest is linked to the Universal Postal Union (UPU) 2026
- It will be conducted in coordination with the Department of Posts
- Schools will collect and submit student entries to CBSE
Theme of the Writing Contest
Students are required to write a letter to a friend on the theme:
“Why human connection matters in a digital world.”

Who Can Participate: Eligibility
- Eligible Age Group: 9 to 15 years
- Open to school students across India
- Participation is routed only through schools
Important Dates
- Last date for schools to submit results to CBSE: 20 March 2026
Students should check timelines announced by their respective schools.
Prizes and Awards
Regional / Circle Level
- First Prize: ₹25,000 + Certificate
- Second Prize: ₹10,000 + Certificate
- Third Prize: ₹5,000 + Certificate
National Level
- First Prize: ₹50,000 + Certificate
- Plus a visit to the UPU Headquarters in Berne, Switzerland (or an alternate award)
- Second Prize: ₹25,000 + Certificate
- Third Prize: ₹10,000 + Certificate
Submission Details (For Schools)
Schools must submit the following details for each student:
- Passport-size photograph
- Student’s name and date of birth
- Gender
- Parent or guardian’s name
- School name and complete postal address
All entries are submitted by schools on behalf of students.
